How To Stay Safe On The Safest Mode Of Transport
Did you know? Aviation is the safest form of transport you can choose. And hot air ballooning is the safest form of aviation. When taking a flight with Balloon Adventures Dubai, you can rest assured you are in the hands of world-class pilots, with the safety of our guests as their top priority.
As everyone plays a role in staying safe, there are certain things you, as a guest, can do to ensure a comfortable and memorable experience for all.
The following people, unfortunately, are not allowed to join for a hot air balloon experience:
– If you are more than 12 weeks pregnant,
– Children under the age of five years,
– If you have undergone major surgery or had broken limbs in the last six months,
– Or if you suffer from chronic neck or back pain
Watching the balloons get inflated by the ground crew is one of the most exciting parts of the experience as you wait in anticipation for your adventure to take off. However, while watching the balloon inflation, you should stay in the indicated area at least 10 meters away from the balloon basket; sometimes, the wind can be unpredictable!
Before take-off, your pilot will walk you through a brief safety introduction. Pay close attention during this time, even if you are tired from the early wake-up call.
This might sound obvious, but staying inside the basket from take-off until landing is complete is extremely important. Please don’t get out of the basket until or unless your pilot tells you it is safe to do so, even after the balloon has landed. Ensure to stay in the basket until you are informed that you can get out and jump on to the next adventure, as the sudden weight change might cause the balloon to move around unnecessarily.
During take-off and landing, put away or secure all loose items like phones, cameras etc. It’s also advised to tuck any loose hair under your shirt or jacket and take off any caps, sunglasses or other items. You don’t want them to get lost in the desert!
If you have ever seen a video of a hot air balloon landing, you could either be very excited or slightly worried. Due to strong winds, the basket might sometimes slide across the desert after landing and sometimes even tip over. This is very normal and safe, and even though it could be funny, you can do things to secure even a bumpy landing. During the briefing and once during the flight, you will practice the “landing position”.
When following the above and listening to your pilot before, during and after your flight, you will have the safest and most memorable desert experience you could wish for in Dubai. Our team of expert pilots, friendly ground crew, and Conservation Guides will be available to help you and answer your questions throughout your journey.
Now that you know that you are safest on a hot air balloon flight, we look forward to welcoming you onboard one of our flights in the near future and providing you with an unforgettable adventure.
