Did You Know?

Aviation is the safest mode of transport, and hot air ballooning is the safest form of aviation.

At the forefront of our safe hot air balloon flights are our highly-trained and extremely experienced Pilots. Like any other vessel in aviation, hot air balloons are licensed, regulated aircraft. Pilots must have substantial training and be highly competent to operate a balloon. Learning to fly a hot air balloon is no different from learning to fly a helicopter or an aeroplane. Pilots are required to spend many hours flying and taking exams to ensure that they’re professionally qualified to fly a balloon.

With our experienced and confident pilots, you will always feel in very safe hands from beginning to end!

1 Our Longstanding Experience

As the longest-operating hot air balloon company in Dubai, we have decades of experience in aviation safety, since 2005. We have been working closely with the Gulf Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) to ensure every aspect of our experiences are safe and exceeds industry standards.

2 Skilled Pilots

Our team of professional hot air balloon pilots are extensively trained and has flown all over the world. Collectively they have more than 120 years of experience and have flown on every continent. Each pilot's top priority is their guests' safety and comfort.

3 Routine Maintenance Checks

All equipment and balloons maintain a high-quality thanks to regular maintenance and thorough checks before and after each hot air balloon flight. We are licensed by the General Civil Aviation Authority (Air Operator’s Certificate AT-0024), and all our balloons undergo a strict maintenance programme, including regular inspections.

4 Safety Briefings

Before every flight, each guest will encounter two safety briefings. The first is on the way to the desert via an immersive video that is available in eight languages. The second is right before the flight, as the Pilot will explain the landing position, getting in and out of the basket and more.

5 Safety Belts

Balloon Adventures Dubai's team has contributed to designing and manufacturing the safety belts that are mandatory to wear during hot air balloon flights in Dubai. We were the first company in the world to install passenger safety belts in all our balloons.

6 Weather Experts

We are one of the few hot air balloon companies in the world with our weather stations. We keep a close eye on the weather at all times. This allows us to track any weather changes in real-time, thus ensuring we always fly in the safest weather conditions.

7 Ground Staff

From the minute you arrive at the take-off site you will be welcomed by an experienced ground crew team that help the pilot to apply all safety procedures and that ensures the balloons are set up correctly for a comfortable take-off. You will also notice them at landing, ensuring everyone is safe.

Summer Update

After a fun and successful season, we are pausing our flights for the summer. Our sunrise hot air balloon flights will resume again on 16 September 2024.
Bookings are already available for the new season. We look forward to welcoming you on an unforgettable experience after the summer!
